PROSPECTUS - ANNUAL EXHIBITION 2010
RULES AND REGULATIONS

ELIGIBILITY

The exhibition is open to any artist of Indian domicile who has either completed graduation in Fine Arts or has at least one solo exhibition to his or her credit. In the case of later, the artist will have to produce printed folder /catalogue at the time of the submission of his or her work. Each artist is entitled to submit maximum two works for competition or for exhibition and these two works should be from two different categories such as one painting (either contemporary oil or mixed media) and one sculpture but never two contemporary paintings or two sculptures. One can however submit one contemporary and one Indian painting in traditional style. The works should be original and such works that have not been exhibited in any previous exhibition.

EXHIBITION DATE OF EXHIBITS

Contemporary Painting, Graphics, Drawing, and Indian Painting in Traditional Style should be after January 1st 2009.
Sculpture after January 1st 2008

1. Contemporary Painting(oil)
2. Contemporary Painting(Mixed Media)
3. Drawing
4. Graphics
5. Indian Painting in Traditional Style/Water Colour
6. Sculpture.


ENTRY FEE Rs.100/-(Rupees One Hundred Only)


SELECTION AND JUDGING COMMITTEE

All exhibits will be submitted to the Selection and Judging Committee which will have full authority to accept or reject any exhibit. The decision of the Committee will be final and no objection or any communication on the subject will be entertained.

AWARDS

The Academy will give six awards of Rs.50, 000.00(fifty thousand) each for the works of outstanding merit in any medium. The Selection & Judging Committee may withhold at their discretion any of the awards if they do not find of any group the exhibits up to the required standard. Award may be shared as per the verdict of the Judging Committee.

REPRODUCTION & COPYRIGHT

The Academy reserves the right to reproduce in the Catalogue any exhibit accepted for exhibition if needed.

PHOTOGRAPH OF THE ART OBJECT

Participants are requested to submit high resolution image of the work in CD along with the art object (JPEG File).


SCHEDULE

Please collect the schedule after NOVEMBER 10TH 2009 and submit the filled schedule along with the exhibit and Entry Fee by December 15th, 2009.

RECEIPT

Exhibits will be received in the Academy’s office on all days (except Mondays and holidays) between 12 to 6 p.m. On Sundays between 4 to 6 p.m. No exhibit will be accepted during the lunch break 1.30 to 2.30 p.m.

INSURANCE

The Academy will not be responsible for insurance charges incurred by the exhibitors either through the Railway or any other agency. The Academy will take every possible care of the exhibits submitted but will not be liable for any damage.

LAST DATE

Exhibits received on or before December 15th 2009, will be considered for selection.

RETURN OF EXHIBITS

The Exhibitor must collect his/her object within 15 days after closing of the exhibition in person or through an authorized representative along with the receipt issued by the Academy.

Artist will have no claim after April 30, 2010.

GENERAL

   1.Painting, Drawing, Graphic etc., must be suitably framed and sculpture secured suitably with
     pedestals. The Academy is not liable for damage and security of loose pedestals.

   2. Entry should be properly labeled. Label is supplied with the schedule.

   3. The Academy may accept works in fragile medium like clay,glass or plaster of Paris on
     the  entire risk of artist and the Academy will not be responsible for any damage.

   4. Size of the sculpture-height 150 cm.with pedestal, width 75 cm. weight 200 kg. maximum.

     Size of the painting , Graphic and Drawing 150 cm x 125 cm. maximum.

   5. The freight charge for exhibits of outstation artists to be borne by the artists
     themselves. A refundable security deposit of Rs.500/- by outstation artist should be sent with the
     exhibit. Change of address if any, should be communicated immediately.

   6.  If the object is not taken back within the stated time the security deposit will be 
       used for crate and freight expenses.

   7.  Exhibits sent by Rail, Road, Air, Post & Parcel should be dispatched in advance so that the
      Academy receives them on or before December 15th 2009.
