Rajeswar Rao constructs an interesting stage for the nouveau rich people, who seem to be celebrating the shower of wealth and recognition. Overwhelmed and enthusiastic to enter the band of the elite, they at times seem to go overboard. The artist with skilled draftsmanship creates his figures and sets them into an ambience, which seems satirical. The characters at times seem uncanny with their flashy dressing sense and exaggerated imitations. The artist rejoices in their typical tastes and attitude and comes up with serious works, which proclaim a section of the society which fascinates all.’ My third anniversary’ is the title of one of his works in the show, in which the effervescent Madame displays her added assets of ornaments on the occasion.
