New Delhi based Vibha Galhotra (b. 1978) trained in graphics at the Government College of Arts, Chandigarh and Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharti, Santiniketan. Her solo exhibitions include ‘Metropia’, Project 88, Mumbai (2008); ‘Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?’, Anant Art Gallery, New Delhi (2006); ‘Between Me and Delhi’, Anant Art Gallery, New Delhi (2005) as well as at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Vadodara and Max Mueller Bhawan, New Delhi.
She has participated in several group exhibitions including ‘India Xianzai’ at Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai (2009); ‘Mutant Beauty’, curated by Gayatri Sinha, Anant Art Gallery, New Delhi (2008); ‘Everywhere is War (and rumours of war)’, curated by Shaheen Merali, Bodhi Art, Mumbai (2008); ‘Destination Asia: Flying over Stereotypes’, Elementa, Dubai (2008); ‘City Cite Site’, Anant Art Gallery, New Delhi (2007); ‘Urban Similies: Transforming Cities’, Project 88, Mumbai (2007); ‘Shadow Lines’, Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi (2006) and exhibitions in Austria, Cyprus, Sri Lanka, Russia and Japan among other places.
Vibha has participated in various residencies ad been awarded the Inlaks Fine Arts Award (2003); Government of India scholarship (2001) and Chandigarh State Lalit Kala Academy young artist award (1998).
